As the evening progressed and the guests began to discuss the meaning of the book, it became clear that with this little, quite personal, volume we have evoked emotions often long buried. Women told us that they cried when they read the stories, that they were impelled to call an old friend, resurrect a relationship, make an overture. So, in a real way, this book that is ours can provide a door through which other women can walk---a way to create their own books remembering their own stories, learning from the past and going forward.
